About The Position

The Welder's primary responsibility is TIG and MIG welding of aluminum and steel parts. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy, and timeliness in the welding area. The role involves planning work order procedures, gathering tools and materials, repairing and fabricating items using cutting and welding techniques, and preparing/tacking parts for welding. The position also requires maintaining equipment and the work area, adhering to proper lifting procedures, and operating machinery safely and as trained. Strict adherence to safety protocols, including wearing specific personal protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmets, gloves, aprons, safety glasses, hearing protection, N95 respirators, and leather work shoes, is mandatory. Appropriate attire includes full-length pants and long-sleeved shirts with forearm protection or a welding jacket/apron. Employees must notify supervisors of any machine malfunctions and ask for clarification when unsure about tasks or equipment.

Requirements

  • Welding experience using Tig/Mig Welder and adjusting amps on the welding machine.
  • Able to use 1-2 lbs. hammer.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to perform the job in a standing position for a length of shift.
  • Semi-strenuous work requiring good correct vision, lifting, stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, pulling, turning, and walking.
  • MIG: 1 year (Required)
  • TIG Welding: 1 year (Required)

  • Must be able to lift, move, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, assemble, and tack weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
  • Maintain, organize, and clean equipment and the work area.
  • Operate machinery safely and as trained.
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required equipment properly.
  • Notify supervisor of any machine not operating properly.
  • Ask supervisor for direction or help when unsure of tasks.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
