About The Position

The Welder performs MIG welding to fabricate, fit, and secure components according to blueprints. The role supports manufacturing and machine repair by dismantling, reshaping, and reassembling damaged parts using standard cutting and grinding equipment. This is a safety-sensitive position. Employees must comply with company safety policies and procedures, including drug- and alcohol-free workplace requirements, and are subject to pre-employment, random, post-incident, and reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing, consistent with applicable law and company policy. Policy violations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination. The position works from 6:30 PM to 5:00 AM, Monday through Thursday.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must pass a welding procedures test.
At least three years of experience in related positions.
Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills.
Proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills.
Strong MIG welding and fabrication skills.
Ability to read blueprints.
Proficient mechanical skills.
Proficient PC skills, including Internet use.
Visual and auditory skills.
Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, climb, and lift items weighing 40 pounds or less.
Ability to work in an environment with excessive noise.
Ability to operate heavy machinery, power tools, or equipment.
Ability to work at elevated heights or in confined spaces.
Must comply with company safety policies and drug- and alcohol-free workplace requirements, including applicable testing.

Responsibilities

Use the MIG welding process.
Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them for welding.
Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts; repairs may involve cutting, grinding, carbon arc, or an oxy-acetylene torch.
Read blueprints or follow verbal instructions for repairs and fabrication.
Coordinate work tasks with personnel in the department and other departments to support the efficient flow of information.
Follow applicable laws and organizational policies and procedures intended to prevent harassment and illegal discrimination in the workplace.
Support internal policies, procedures, and practices related to risk management, safety, soundness, and regulatory compliance.
Report pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested or on an established schedule, and compile and provide information as directed.
Respond to inquiries about the work area and requests from customers or other personnel within established time frames and policies.
