About The Position

Lake Air Products is seeking welders for its Roseville, Minnesota location. The company is a contract manufacturer serving medical, aerospace and defense, industrial, and other markets. This position involves welding and inspecting metal parts and assemblies to ensure they meet specifications. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with 10-hour shifts. The role may be subject to export control regulations; applicable candidates must meet U.S. Person requirements or obtain an export control license unless an exemption applies.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 7 years of experience in TIG, MIG, and tack welding; TIG welding is preferred.
Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to read blueprints and perform necessary measurements.

Responsibilities

Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications using measuring and layout tools.
Observe tests on welded surfaces, including hydrostatic, X-ray, and dimensional-tolerance tests.
Develop templates, tooling, and other work aids to hold and align parts.
Determine required equipment and welding methods using knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
Examine finished products and spare parts against samples to verify that specifications are met.
Inspect grooves, angles, and gap allowances using measuring instruments.
Weld metal components using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other welding processes.
