About The Position

Gerdau is seeking a Welder for their Bradley Steel Processors - Winnipeg, MB facility. This role involves performing a variety of MIG production welding and fabrication tasks while ensuring production goals are met safely, efficiently, and with high quality. The ideal candidate will promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Requirements

Minimum Grade 12 diploma (or GED).
Minimum 1-2 years of working experience as a welder.
Skilled training courses on welding can be considered as an alternative for experience.
Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings (blueprints) and manufacturing processes.
Ability to set up welding equipment on your own.
Capable of using measuring instruments, gauges, etc. to check weld quality and parts.
Able to work under minimal supervision.
Provide a criminal background check.
Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with extremely hot materials while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

Perform a wide variety of MIG production welding and fabrication.
Ensure production goals are achieved without compromising safety, quality, or efficiency.
Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
Operate MIG welding equipment to fuse metal segments using MIG processes.
Set up parts and weld machine parameters according to blueprint and work specifications.
Work with other equipment and power tools as needed.
Follow setup and inspection procedures.
Adhere to company safety policies and procedures and maintain a clean and safe work area.
May perform other duties as supervisor deems necessary.
