About The Position

The Welder's primary duty is to weld assemblies per shop drawings, maintain welding equipment, use hand tools, and operate a forklift and overhead crane. This role requires the ability to read and interpret shop drawings, cut, punch, and drill material precisely, and keep the work area clean. The Welder will also be responsible for setting up, running, and maintaining welding machines, operating various hand tools, and working with a Fabricator to determine parts needed. The position involves lifting heavy objects and following directions, with additional duties assigned by the company. The role also includes attending workshops, seminars, and conferences for professional development, participating in company training, and interacting effectively with all staff and management. Some administrative work may also be required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (equivalent experience, education, and training may be considered)
  • Ability to read and understand shop drawings
  • Must be forklift certified
  • Must be able to clearly speak, read, and write in the English language
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to address situations as they arise and respond intuitively with accuracy and integrity
  • Continuous learning style and ability
  • Ability to present an overall professional image
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a friendly and efficient manner with vendors, employees, and other company contacts
  • Ability to effectively welcome and embrace differences among employees and vendors

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to move about production floor
  • Ability to stoop or kneel to pick up products and construction materials
  • Lifts, pulls, pushes, sorts, and carries supplies and equipment up to 75 lbs or more
  • Ability to grasp and use construction equipment and power tools

  • Experience working in a production environment is helpful
  • Welding experience and certification is preferred
  • Knowledge of the different products produced by the company

  • Ability to identify any quality issues or defects in materials
