About The Position

Mid Continent Engineering is seeking a Welder (TIG) to join our team! This is a 6 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, opportunity. Mid-Continent has been a supplier to first-tier OEMs within the medical, aerospace and defense industries for decades. Mid-Continent Engineering stuffs the armed forces supply chain with products of our capabilities such as precision machining, aerospace welding, chromate conversion, paint/powder coat finishing, mechanical assemblies, and other design-assist services.

Requirements

High school education or G.E.D.
Must have 5+ years of TIG welding experience and be able to hold company welding certifications.
Must have the ability to pass the welding test and any other certifications to complete the job.
Blueprint reading includes weld symbols and geometric tolerancing.
Understands proper welding requirements for welding position, base material, joint design, and specifications.

Nice To Haves

Certificate of completion from technical school welding program and 5 years of working experience or 6 to 8 years related welding experience.

Responsibilities

Layout, position, and fit material to be welded in an efficient manner per print.
Sets up equipment to weld on a variety of metals and alloys.
Bolts, clamps, and tack weld parts to secure in position for welding.
Moves and positions material with hoist and forklift.
Maintain clean work area.
Regulates amps, volts, wire feed rate, gas flow and gas mixtures in accordance with material, weld process, and weld position within specifications.
Selects proper welding process, equipment, electrodes, and consumables for material being welded.
Perform other duties as assigned.
