The TIG Welder position is located in Dixon, IL and will be responsible for performing tig welding on materials. This 1st shift position hours are, Monday through Thursday, 4:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year welding experience
Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments

Nice To Haves

Welding certification per AMS-STD-1595A
2 years+ welding experience
Strong knowledge of manufacturing capabilities and processes
Enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work
NADCAP Certification Level II Inspector per Military Standard 271
NAVSEA Certification per S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248

Responsibilities

Adheres to production schedule
Reads, assembles, and welds using TIG and GTAW welding techniques from blueprints.
Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
Monitors welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
Setting up to 250 Amp, 32 Volt, 400 IPM wire speed
Uses .045 - .052 metal core wire using 90/10 gas
Grinds and wire wheels product to clean smooth surfaces
Weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead
Thorough understanding of machines and tools used for welding
Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area
Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
Performs other related duties as assigned
