This position uses robotic welding cells, MIG/TIG welding, and common metal working hand tools to completely sub-assemble (tack) and weld fuel tank related components from formed sheet metal parts, tubing, and fittings. This position encompasses responsibilities with robot welding machines and Metal Prep Weld. Generally not performed by the Robot Operator, but they need to know how to load and unload parts into the robot fixturing when the Robot Programmers can’t keep up with this task. Typically, fuel system parts are made of aluminum-coated steel metals, but may include P&O, stainless steel, and aluminum materials. The finished parts will be ready for final testing and washing in preparation for powder coating.
