About The Position

We are looking for a Repair Technician in Baltimore MD! This role involves restoring, optimizing, and ensuring the reliability of engine-driven welding equipment and generators while fostering a safe and supportive working environment. The position contributes to a culture of safety by following health and safety guidelines. The technician will repair and refurbish electric and engine drives, assemble electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental, and test and calibrate machines. Responsibilities also include repainting parts, applying decals, replacing defective parts, completing preventative maintenance, ordering parts, inspecting returned equipment, operating a forklift or pallet jack, maintaining a clean work environment, preparing documentation for repairs, and occasionally providing on-site service. The role requires maintaining open communication with branch personnel, sharing expertise with customers, and performing other related duties as a collaborative team member.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 0-1 years of related technical experience; we welcome those early in their career or transitioning from similar fields.
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License is required for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary education equivalent to a one-year technical college or similar background is a valued asset.
  • A working knowledge of power generating and welding equipment.
  • Thoroughness and care in technical tasks, paired with solid organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive with trusted autonomy while staying connected to team goals.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and refurbishes all Electric and Engine Drives.
  • Assembles electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental.
  • Tests and calibrates machines to ensure they are ready to serve our customers.
  • Repaints parts, touches up paint, and applies decals to welders to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Replaces defective parts and completes essential preventative maintenance.
  • Orders parts as required to ensure the team can complete repairs efficiently.
  • Inspects returned equipment to ensure proper operation and identify any necessary care.
  • Operates a forklift, pallet jack, or other necessary equipment to organize required parts in the shop.
  • Fosters a clean and organized work environment for the benefit of the whole team.
  • Prepares and completes documentation for all machine repairs.
  • Occasionally provides on-site service to support our equipment and customers.
  • Maintains open communication with all branch personnel.
  • Occasionally shares expertise with customers regarding the most effective equipment for their projects.
  • Performs field work as needed to support business goals.
  • Performs other related duties as a collaborative team member.
