This position involves MIG welding, grinding, material handling, and crane operations. The welder will be responsible for reading and understanding blueprints and AWS welding symbols, joining thin metals of varying compositions by operating specialized hand and power tools, and operating tools such as arc welders, grinders, and buffing machines. The role requires visual inspection of welds, obtaining and maintaining company weld certifications, and operating assigned machinery during welding downtime. Planning, understanding, and interpreting drawings, specifications, material, and operating instructions are crucial. The welder will produce and inspect parts against drawings specifications within the allotted time, ensuring product quality. Use of precision measuring instruments, verifying initial product quality checks, and completing all processing operations are also key responsibilities. Updating related paperwork, demonstrating safe work habits, maintaining equipment and work area, and assisting in other departments as needed are also part of the role. The position requires the ability to stand and operate machinery throughout the duration of the shift, except for scheduled breaks, and the ability to lift required objects with or without assistance, turn, and load/unload required objects.
