About The Position

Tru-Stop, Inc. is a diverse manufacturing company located in Tempe, Arizona, serving various industry segments with precision manufactured products for a US and overseas customer base. Due to current growth, we are seeking experienced Welders to meet increasing customer demand.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of structural weldments involving fitted pipe work, flanges, and structural materials.
  • Experienced and proficient with vessel, pipe, and structural welding per ASME Code.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Experienced with MIG and TIG welding.
  • Experienced welding carbon steel and stainless steel.
  • Experienced with using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
  • Experienced with use of support equipment i.e., sand blasters, hydraulic presses, grinders, hand tools, etc. to prep materials prior to weld.
  • Experienced with fork truck operation.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and comply with PPE (Face-shield, gloves, Safety footwear, Safety glasses, etc.).
  • Fluent in English with the ability to read and understand instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively communicate promptly.
  • Must be able to pass a welding certification test to verify ability to meet required welding techniques.
  • Minimum of (3) years of experience in welding, MIG & TIG, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Must be fluent in English, including simple math, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must own a valid welding certification by the American Welding Society (AWS) or a similar certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of a relevant weld apprenticeship program is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand job travelers, drawings, customer's blueprints, visual aids, and identification requirements.
  • Visually inspect parts during welding for compliance.
  • Weld products to meet Blueprint and/or drawing specifications/requirements.
  • Identify and use proper welding equipment or method based on drawing requirements/type of material.
  • Operate angle grinders/pedestal grinders to prepare parts for welding.
  • Align components using calipers, rulers, tape measures, etc., and clamp pieces.
  • Inspect and maintain weld equipment and other tools within the department for proper usage and safety.
  • Ensure safety procedures and regulations are followed.
  • Perform welding tasks according to ASME code standards.
  • Weld products to meet Blueprint and/or drawing specifications/requirements.
  • Identify and use proper welding equipment or method based on drawing requirements/type of material.
  • Operate angle grinders/pedestal grinders to prepare the parts that are to be welded.
  • Align components using calipers, rulers, tape measures, etc. and clamp pieces.
  • Inspect and keep weld equipment and other tools within the department for proper usage and safety.
  • Ensure safety procedures and regulations are followed.
