We are looking for a welder fabricator for our established sheet metal shop.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED preferred
Ability to read blueprints, drawings, calipers, tape measures and angle gauges
Ability to identify and measure material
Ability to produce quality products consistently
Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment

Responsibilities

Read blueprints
Read and use a tape measure
Work independently as well as with others to assemble projects within 1/32 inch.
Work with sheet metal and occasionally heavier metal
Performs MIG and/or TIG weld on steel, stainless, and aluminum sheet metal based on project requirements
Sets up components for welding according to specifications
Determines the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements - can weld to desired requirements
Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
Tests and inspects welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws i.e., to pass leak check and MT check
grinds off excess weld or spatter
Sands or touches up weld with sander and/or grinder
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
