About The Position

MIG and TIG welders use metal inert gas (MIG) or tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding to fuse metal parts together and operate tools such as arc welders, grinders, and buffing machines. They are also responsible for selecting and installing torch tips, filler rods, and flux according to the thickness of metal materials.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in MIG/TIG welding.
  • Knowledge of welding equipment, processes, materials, and proper gases.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
  • Comfortable with numbers for calculating dimensions and taking measurements.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work with measurement tools (tape measures, calipers, clamps).
  • Ability to work with metalworking tools (grinders, buffers, sanders).
  • Ability to work with technical documents (blueprints, bills of material, technique sheets).
  • Ability to work with MIG/TIG welding equipment (tungsten electrodes, filler metal rods, torch holders).
  • Ability to work with metals (stainless steel, aluminum, black iron).
  • Solid background working with sheet metal.
  • Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance.
  • Ability to distinguish material types including Galvanized and Stainless Steel.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision while meeting all product quality requirements.
  • Ability to read a tape measure and caliper.
  • Ability to read blueprints and requires knowledge of engineered specified tolerances.
  • Ability to Stand and Walk 8 Hours/Day
  • Lifting up to 50 Lbs.
  • Bending, Reaching, Turning, Twisting, Kneeling, Holding Welding Tools
  • Wearing Welding Mask and other PPE for extended periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Welding Certificate Preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in MIG/TIG welding preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Fuse metal parts together using MIG or TIG welding.
  • Operate tools such as arc welders, grinders, and buffing machines.
  • Select and install torch tips, filler rods, and flux according to the thickness of metal materials.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics for instructions.
  • Calculate dimensions based on blueprints and take measurements of materials.
  • Inspect products, spot errors, analyze root causes, and formulate solutions.
  • Weld thin 20 gauge stainless steel.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
