Welder-MIG/TIG Set Up-Run
About The Position
In addition to performing all phases of the TIG weld function, this role involves setting up machinery, tools, and parts for job completion. The individual must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily, understanding and following all applicable safety policies and procedures. This includes referring to the production Manufacturing Process Control Document (MPCD) for job specifics, setting up and running jobs as required, and resolving job-related problems. The role also involves assisting in the resolution of production, quality, and engineering issues, ensuring machines are maintained per safety and quality standards, and assisting with other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One year certificate from college or technical school preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-3 years related experience or training.
- Understanding and ability to use quality inspection equipment (calipers, height stand, protractor).
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to wear a respirator, as required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Nice To Haves
- MIG/TIG Welding certification preferred.
