About The Position

MSS Solutions, LLC is hiring a Welder - Mechanical to weld and join metal components and pipes, fabricate and assemble piping segments, and produce welds in accordance with Weld Procedure Specifications. The role uses manual and semi-automatic welding processes and requires working in varied positions, inspecting work for defects, and following safety policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned by the company.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of field pipe-welding experience, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
• Ability to pass an in-house welding test meeting 6G criteria.
• Must have own hand tools.
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.
• Ability to weld diverse types of metals.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components, or fill holes, indentations, or seams in fabricated metal products or pipes.
• Read Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS) and produce welds according to procedure requirements.
• Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
• Ignite torches or power supplies and strike arcs by touching electrodes to the metal being welded.
• Fabricate and construct piping segments and attach fittings requiring field fit-up, erection, and assembly.
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt parts into the required configurations and positions for welding.
• Identify faulty equipment operation or defective materials and notify supervisors.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment using processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, shielded metal arc, resistance, and submerged arc welding.
• Examine workpieces for defects and measure them to ensure they conform to specifications.
• Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the company.
