About The Position

The Welder III is responsible for producing metal components by setting up and operating welding machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies. Elemet Group provides solutions to solve our customers’ manufacturing and fabrication challenges. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 4 years welding experience required
  • Ability to safely perform work in varying work conditions
  • Holds at least three welding certifications (1G – 6G) or three different materials (ex. steel, aluminum, stainless, etc.) required
  • Working knowledge of welding with previous experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions
  • Effective problem-solving skills/detailed oriented/sense of urgency
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, and fillet gauges
  • Ability to be forklift certified
  • Ability to follow hoist safety protocols
  • Self-motivated, takes initiative
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. on a consistent basis
  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use power tools
  • Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  • Consistently wear personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work in production facility with fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels

Responsibilities

  • Producing metal components by setting up and operating welding machine
  • Maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies
  • Advanced understanding of welding necessary to produce metal components
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/Tag out
  • Weld three or more different types (Mig, Tig, etc.)
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications for given process
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Adjust welding machine
  • Select correct welding process, cell, and machine
  • Understand and accurately report daily production quantities to meet set number of parts per hour
  • Consistent and accurate counts of materials and products
  • Do daily maintenance on welding machine
  • Performs necessary quality checks on product and completes daily communication
  • Setup workstation according to safety standards to perform maximum efficiency
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and maintain all equipment according to established procedures.
  • Maintain a positive attitude with customers, clients, co-workers, and management
  • Complete the first part approval process for all jobs
  • Effectively collaborate with departments across organization to achieve daily goals
  • Program new parts in robotic cell to completion
