About The Position

GEA Group, located in York, PA, is searching for a Welder II to join our Production Team! This role performs all operations in the manufacture of custom and standard packages, heat exchangers, vessels, separators, and compressor packages to required specifications and budgets. Responsibilities include assembling and welding sub-assembly parts, internal and external parts, water boxes, and supports. The role also involves sub arc tube sheets, welding tube to tube sheet, installing package components, and assembling, welding, and installing system piping. Additionally, the Welder II will assist in training less experienced employees and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum Experience: 3+ years' experience in lieu of vocational degree/certificate in structural / pipe welding
  • Pipe welding (Ability to qualify in a 6G test for Mig, Pulse and Tig)
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic blueprint reading
  • Basic fabrication skills
  • Comprehension of safety rules
  • Sit, stand, reach, walk for periods of time on concrete surface.
  • Ability to lift / carry 50 lbs.
  • Sufficient hand, arm and finger dexterity to operate tools and or machinery.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Certified Vocational Degrees Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assembles, welds, and installs sub assembly parts
  • Installs heads and sub arc
  • Sub arc wrappers
  • Assembles and welds supports, legs and angles
  • Performs all operations in the manufacture of standard compressor packages to required specifications and budgets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
