About The Position

This entry-level role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. In this role, you will be part of the AGILITY Fabrication Division, supporting our Dev. Pad rebuild efforts, Test Stands, Launch Pads, and Tooling sites across Blue Origin with the expectation of learning and developing your trade under the supervision of senior welders. As part of a hardworking team of technicians, welders, and fabricators, you will use your skills and knowledge to complete build-to-print and prototype work for various programs and projects across the company. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of repairs, upgrades, and fabricating weldments of various size, complexity, and materials while ensuring safety and quality goals are achieved. Mechanical aptitude, ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and ability to communicate as a team member both verbally and in writing is paramount. In this role you will collaborate with teammates to ensure designers receive the exact weldment they need.

Requirements

Ability to travel to all Blue Origin facilities up to 25%, as required.
High School Diploma or GED.
Self-sufficient, self-starter and driven.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
Demonstrated experience welding processes including SMAW, FCAW, GMAW.
Working knowledge in pipe and structural fitting and material preparation.
Fundamental understanding of welding aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
Must be able to work at heights.
Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs.
Bend/kneel, stoop/crouch, twist/turn, grasp/reach overhead and outward frequently.
Must be able to pass background check to access U.S. military and NASA installations.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e. current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

AA technical degree/equivalent and/or technical coursework.
Ability to interpret GD&T.
Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
Experience in pipe fitting and material preparation for welding.
Ability to operate material handling equipment. (forklift, overhead crane, hoist, man lift, etc.)
Working knowledge of pressurized fluid systems.

Responsibilities

Support Dev. Pad rebuild efforts, Test Stands, Launch Pads, and Tooling sites.
Learn and develop trade skills under the supervision of senior welders.
Complete build-to-print and prototype work for various programs and projects.
Perform repairs, upgrades, and fabricating weldments of various size, complexity, and materials.

Document and maintain accurate records.
