About The Position

Spartan Emergency Response (Spartan ER) is a leading designer, manufacturer, and distributor of custom emergency response vehicles, cabs, and chassis. A Structural Welder at Ladder Tower is responsible for performing modification and welding operations, adhering to blueprints, company standards, and applicable AWS standards. The role requires meeting third-party inspection criteria in accordance with NFPA requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure for precise measurements.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, as well as weld symbols.
  • Must process knowledge and experience to set up, adjust, and maintain welding machines.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and follow directions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to pass required welding certification test in the following AWS material sections: D1.1, D1.2, D1.3, D1.6, and D9.1.
  • Must be able to perform an uphill weld.
  • Successful completion of the drug and background screening.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of experience.
  • Welding Certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Use modification and welding (minimum AWS 1G/2G/3G/4G/5G/6G level)
  • Perform welding operations according to blueprints, company standards and applicable AWS standards to meet third party inspection criteria in accordance with NFPA requirements.
  • Inspect welds for cracks, burn through and weld spatter.
  • Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required.
  • Grind and clean areas where required.
  • Stay current in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and basic mechanical adjustments on all equipment as needed.
  • Follow hazardous waste disposal program and fire prevention procedures.
