Welder I - 3rd Shift
About The Position
We are looking for a Welder I to be part of a talented group of aerospace welders who specialize in GTAW (TIG) welding. The clean and air-conditioned environment combined with using up-to-date Miller electric machines make for a comfortable day-to-day experience that is built around producing high-quality aerospace engine components. You will work hand in hand with sheet metal mechanics and engineers to properly fit up and weld multiple different components. Majority of the time is spent in the weld booth but will also require some time spent working with the details prior to welding or post welding.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of one (1) year of related experience and/or training/certification in welding
- Minimum of one (1) year of TIG welding experience
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis, without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of GTAW (TIG) specific work experience
- Work experience in the aerospace industry
- Training and/or certification in visual weld inspection
- Capable of qualifying on automatic welding machines in at least one metals group
Responsibilities
- Set up and perform all fusion welding operations in the facility, both manual and automatic within the limits of certifications in accordance with the current methods and process sheets
- Check welds visually and dimensionally with precision measuring instruments for conformance to blueprints and specifications
- Conduct specified fusion welding tests
- Have a working knowledge of welding practice and weld-ability of current metal groups within their certifications
- Ability to weld on various alloys including but not limited to stainless steel, nickel, and titanium
- Ability to complete fillet and groove welds in multiple different positions
- Ability to perform light sheet metal work including fit up and correction that is directly related to welding
- Able to read and interpret prints involving weld symbols
- Demonstrate a good mechanical aptitude
