About The Position

The Welder I performs basic welding operations on components and structures while following established safety, quality, and work procedures. Apogee Architectural Metals is part of Apogee Enterprises, Inc. (NASDAQ: APOG) and specializes in architectural aluminum framing, windows, storefronts, curtainwall, and entrance systems. Our brands include Alumicor, EFCO, Linetec, Tubelite, and Wausau.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic welding knowledge and skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure and use common hand tools.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints and work instructions.
• Basic computer/data entry skills.
• Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail.
• Dependable, team-oriented, and willing to adapt to changing production needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic welding on components and materials.
• Read and follow basic blueprints and welding symbols.
• Inspect welds to ensure quality standards are met.
• Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE.
• Use measuring devices and hand tools accurately.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Work as part of a team to meet production goals.
