About The Position

Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a Welder I Certified to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 715. The starting wage for this position is $31.06 per hour. This position is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus. The first half ($500) is payable after successful completion of the orientation period and the second half ($500) is payable after one year of employment. The regularly scheduled hours for this position are 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may become a possibility or even required. When working overtime, the regularly scheduled shift is adjusted by 1-2 hours at either the beginning or end of the regularly scheduled shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must pass Milwaukee Valve’s Eye Examination requirements annually.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual welding and brazing operations.
  • Visual Inspection – Level II Certified: Training and examinations to satisfactorily completed to achieve certification per Milwaukee Valve’s requirements to visually inspect welds.
  • Welder Workmanship Certification: Training and examination to satisfactorily completed to achieve certification per Milwaukee Valve’s welder Workmanship requirements.
  • Weld Procedure Qualification: Weld performance qualification tests per Milwaukee Valve’s approved weld procedures with satisfactory results to weld production material.
  • Perform welding processes every 3 months to retain certification.
  • Able to read and interpret welding procedures, standards, and specifications.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings.
  • Operate hand tools, grinders, and other fabrication equipment safely.
  • Inspect welds for quality, ensuring conformance to specifications and tolerances using measuring instruments and gauges.
  • Maintain traceability of materials.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and compliance with shop standards.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
