About The Position

Requirements

• Ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials (typically 50+ lbs), stand for long periods, and work in various environments
• Willingness to learn welding techniques and safety practices
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic knowledge of welding or metal fabrication is a plus
• Familiarity with MIG, TIG, or stick welding processes
• Experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial setting
• Basic blueprint reading skills
• Forklift certification (a plus, not required)

Responsibilities

• Assist welders with setup and operation of welding equipment
• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, and positioning metal parts
• Hold or align materials during welding or fabrication processes
• Operate basic tools such as grinders, drills, and cutting torches
• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment
• Transport materials and finished products using hand tools or machinery
• Follow blueprints, sketches, or instructions from lead
• Ensure all work is performed according to safety standards and procedures
• Assist with loading and unloading materials or equipment
