The Welder Helper position is an entry-level role designed to assist experienced welders by preparing materials, operating equipment, and maintaining a safe work environment to support the overall welding process. The individual will learn and follow safety procedures and contribute to a clean and safe workspace.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
Excellent communication skills.
Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
Basic math skills.
Ability to operate and maintain production equipment.
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.

Responsibilities

Assists Welder I and Welder II in various welding tasks as directed.
Prepares workpieces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and scraping as necessary.
Helps set up welding equipment and tools under supervision.
Handles and stores welding materials and equipment properly.
Operates power tools and hand tools under guidance.
Reads and interprets basic welding blueprints and instructions.
Assists in tack welding components together for final welding.
Supports Welder I and Welder II in maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Learns and follows safety procedures and guidelines at all times.
Assists in training and mentoring new helpers as needed.
