About The Position

Eaton's EPG CHD ALP Airport Lighting Products division is seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator / Welder. This position is based at our Windsor, CT location. The role involves fabricating and assembling custom sheet metal components and assemblies for airport lighting products. While welding is an important aspect, the majority of the work focuses on precision sheet metal fabrication, including forming, machining, and assembly of aluminum and steel components, primarily with material thicknesses ranging from .030 to .250 inches.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Experience TIG welding aluminum in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Proficiency in TIG welding aluminum.
  • Working knowledge of MIG and spot welding processes.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills.
  • Ability to accurately use measuring equipment including calipers and tape measure.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Nice To Haves

  • Sheet metal fabrication experience.
  • Experience welding aluminum and steel using TIG and MIG processes.
  • Experience operating press brakes, shears, CNC turret punches, PEM insertion equipment, Bridgeport mills, and metal-cutting saws.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, modify, and assemble sheet metal components using engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Perform TIG, MIG, and spot-welding operations on aluminum and steel components.
  • Work primarily with material thicknesses ranging from .030 to .250 inches.
  • Set up and operate fabrication equipment including press brakes, shears, CNC turret punches, PEM insertion equipment, Bridgeport mills, and various metal-cutting saws.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with quality requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders.
  • Crosstrain and develop proficiency in multiple fabrication processes as needed to support production operations.
