Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Certification in basic welding and/or two (2) years of welding experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year of diesel mechanic experience.
  • Experience using diagnostic software is a plus.
  • Must meet company standards for safety-sensitive positions.
  • Must possess and maintain basic personal tools, including a welding shield, hand wrenches, and tools required to maintain heavy/hydraulic equipment.
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using diagnostic software is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate welding equipment to fabricate and repair new and used solid waste handling equipment.
  • Repair, prep, and paint equipment as assigned.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty diesel, CNG, gas, electric, and hydraulic trucks and equipment.
  • Use diagnostic software, power tools, hand tools, and technical manuals to complete repairs.
  • Complete work orders, service reports, parts orders, and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, required tools, and a clean work area, including assigned vehicles.
  • Ensure quality, efficient, and safe completion of all repairs in compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state/provincial, and local regulations.
  • Assist other shop employees as needed and perform additional duties assigned by management.
  • Attend safety meetings, branch meetings, technical training, and testing to stay current with industry technology.
