Position Summary The Welder - Fitter is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding metal components and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This role supports safe, efficient, and high‑quality production within Frederick’s Manufacturing LLC’s fabrication operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Welder/Fitter or equivalent experience in a heavy fabrication or industrial environment

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from fabrication drawings, blueprints, and verbal instructions
  • Working knowledge of welding processes (including arc welding, gas welding, and brazing)
  • Competent use of measuring tools, hand tools, and fabrication equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards

Responsibilities

  • Report to the supervisor at the start of each shift to receive work assignments
  • Interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and verbal instructions to produce metal components and assemblies
  • Fit, position, clamp, and weld metal parts using approved welding processes
  • Perform related fabrication tasks including thermal cutting, grinding, and repair work
  • Repair broken or cracked components, fill holes, and modify or resize metal parts as required
  • Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures
  • Successfully pass required welding tests and maintain applicable certifications
  • Use measuring instruments and hand tools to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and housekeeping policies and procedures
  • Accurately document time worked to the appropriate job numbers and minimize non‑billable indirect time
  • Maintain clean, organized, and inspection‑ready work areas at all times
  • Return tools and equipment to designated locations after use
  • Immediately report safety concerns, quality issues, or production problems to the supervisor
  • Adhere to company break and lunch policies and designated areas
  • Refrain from personal projects during work hours unless expressly approved by a supervisor
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs, emergencies, or customer requirements
