About The Position

MMI is an industrial contractor and steel fabricating company based in El Centro, California. MMI has been in business since 1974 and continues to grow each year. We are very proud of the more than 200 loyal members of our team and are looking for individuals to contribute at a very high level. MMI is looking to hire experienced fitter/welders who have at least 5 years of experience in structural steel. Fitter/welders are involved in assembling and fitting to drawing dimensions of all kinds of structural steel. Must be able to pass a drug test.

Requirements

• at least 5 years of experience in structural steel
• Must be able to pass a drug test

Responsibilities

• Must be able to read, understand and interpret structural steel drawings
• Communicate with Foreman and QC
• Have the mathematical skills to accurately fit
• Follow welding procedures
• Must be certified or able to pass a weld test
• Must be competent riggers able to operate heavy loads on overhead cranes
• Should work systematically so QC can check jobs in a prioritized fashion
• Follow company and jobsite safety guidelines, procedures and policies
• Must be willing to work overtime and Saturdays as needed
• Strong teamwork
