About The Position

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking skilled Welder / Fabricators for their 2nd shift (4 Day/10 Hours) to produce quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings. The role involves operating metalworking machines, fabricating and assembling metal parts according to blueprints, welding, and ensuring quality control. The position requires a strong commitment to safety, dependability, and teamwork in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Previous experience operating hydraulic presses and working in a manufacturing environment.
Average math abilities.
Ability to understand and follow instructions written in English.
Ability to complete basic logs and reports.
Familiarity with safety programs and training.
Strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Able to handle heavy items through lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning.
Able to consistently stand for the entire shift.
Reliable attendance, with a commitment to working scheduled hours and following the company's timekeeping policy and all other policies.
Willing to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
Organized, detail-oriented.
Capable of performing basic clerical tasks accurately.
Works well with others and has a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

Operate metalworking machines such as shears, presses, and grinders to shape metal parts.
Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using various hand and power tools, ensuring adherence to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to accurately fabricate metal parts.
Weld, braze, or solder metal parts together using appropriate techniques and equipment.
Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
Maintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE and complying with safety procedures.
Support additional areas or departments as assigned.
