About The Position

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking skilled Welder / Fabricators for their 2nd shift (4 Day/10 Hours) team. The role involves producing quality mechanical power transmission components, material handling systems, and custom forgings with excellence. The ideal candidate will operate metalworking machines, fabricate and assemble metal parts, interpret blueprints, perform welding, and ensure quality control. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and adherence to company policies within a non-climate-controlled shop environment.

Requirements

Previous experience operating hydraulic presses and working in a manufacturing environment.
Average math abilities.
Ability to understand and follow instructions written in English.
Ability to complete basic logs and reports.
Familiarity with safety programs and training.
Strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Able to handle heavy items through lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning.
Able to consistently stand for the entire shift.
Reliable attendance, with a commitment to working scheduled hours and following the company's timekeeping policy and all other policies.
Willing to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
Organized, detail-oriented.
Capable of performing basic clerical tasks accurately.
Works well with others and has a collaborative, team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

Operate metalworking machines such as shears, presses, and grinders to shape metal parts as required.
Cut, shape, and assemble metal components using various hand and power tools, ensuring adherence to specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to accurately fabricate metal parts according to the design.
Weld, braze, or solder metal parts together using appropriate techniques and equipment.
Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards and specifications.
Maintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe to ensure a productive work environment.
Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE and complying with safety procedures.
Support additional areas or departments as assigned to enhance overall operations and contribute to team success.
