We are excited to share a new opportunity within RealTruck for a Welder/Fabricator to join our specialized trailer production team supporting ARE, the industry leader in fiberglass, aluminum, and tonneau truck caps and covers. ARE, a key brand within RealTruck, is known for its premium truck caps and covers. To support the delivery of these products, we build custom trailers in-house—and we’re looking for skilled professionals to help us do it. This is a specialized fabrication role focused on building custom trailers used to transport ARE products. The ideal candidate will have experience in MIG welding and be comfortable working with both steel and aluminum materials.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in MIG welding and metal fabrication.
  • Ability to use all types of hand and power tools, such as, vice grips, clamping tools, drills and drill presses, grinders, chop saw, miter saw, MIG and TIG welders, stick welders, oxygen/acetylene torch kit, plasma cutter, and sanders.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds above your head.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior trailer fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Works from detailed or rough drawings to determine sizes, configurations, layouts, and dimensions needed to fabricate and build components of trailers and a variety of tools, equipment, and fixtures needed by shipping and transportation.
  • Perform MIG welding on steel and aluminum components.
  • Assemble metal parts using hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Perform needed repairs on trailers to meet ODOT and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, including repairing and installing sheet metal and flooring, welding chassis and framework, repairing doors and painting.
  • Installs, repairs and/or replaces wiring and airlines on trailers.
  • Ensure quality and safety standards are met throughout the fabrication process.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet goals and timelines.
