About The Position
This is a hands-on manufacturing position supporting our welders and assisting with the complete assembly of SPOG solar-powered trailers. The primary responsibilities include measuring, cutting, grinding, drilling, fitting, and preparing metal for our welders, along with assisting in the assembly and construction of solar-powered trailers. This is a great position for someone with mechanical ability who wants to develop additional welding, fabrication, and manufacturing skills.
Requirements
- Experience using saws, grinders, drills, and hand/power tools.
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Ability to follow instructions and work from basic drawings and measurements.
- Comfortable working with steel and aluminum.
- Mechanically inclined and willing to learn.
- Able to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team.
- Dependable and able to maintain a consistent work schedule.
- Strong attention to quality and safety.
Nice To Haves
- Previous construction, fabrication, manufacturing, automotive, trailer, mechanical, or welding experience is preferred.
- Basic metal fabrication knowledge is preferred.
- Welding experience is a plus but is not required.
Responsibilities
- Measure and cut steel and aluminum according to specifications.
- Prepare metal components for welders.
- Grind, clean, drill, and fit metal components before welding.
- Use saws, grinders, drills, and other fabrication tools.
- Assist welders with positioning and fitting components.
- Prepare brackets, tubing, framing, and other trailer components.
- Assist with trailer frame and body assembly.
- Install walls, insulation, flooring, doors, equipment mounts, and interior components.
- Assist with mounting solar panels and solar equipment.
- Assist with battery, inverter, HVAC, lighting, and equipment installation under the direction of qualified team members.
- Perform general mechanical and trailer assembly work.
- Read tape measures and follow basic drawings and measurements.
- Maintain an organized manufacturing and fabrication area.
- Keep materials and components organized for production.
- Follow all company safety procedures.
- Assist the manufacturing team wherever needed to keep trailers moving through production.
