About The Position

This is a Non-Exempt position for a Welder/Fabricator who will perform, under minimum supervision, the functions of lay-out, fabricating, and mig welding. The role involves interpreting simple to difficult drawings, sketches, or working from samples and instructions. Responsibilities include cleaning, cutting, and preparing various metals for welding, setting up and performing mig welding for customer products, and safely operating equipment such as saws, cutting torches, presses (hydraulic drill and punch), and brakes to produce sub-assemblies. The Welder/Fabricator is expected to produce work that meets or exceeds Quality Control Standards, requisition welding supplies, safely operate material handling equipment like hoists, cranes, and tow motors, maintain a clean and organized work area, and exhibit strong interpersonal skills as an active team member. Other duties may be assigned by company management.

Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or acceptable equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain welding certification within six months of hiring date.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Able to safely handle various forms of material handling equipment such as hoists, cranes, etc.
  • Requires attention and care to prevent injury to self and others when performing work.
  • Ability to use various measuring tools.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
  • Demonstrate a positive and business-like attitude.
  • Required to wear all OSHA mandated safety equipment and to adhere to all company safety practices and policies.
  • Conduct all interactions with customers (internal and external), vendors, field sales representatives, co-workers, and supervisors in a focused, positive, courteous and respectful manner.
  • Regular attendance is an essential element of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 – 3 years welding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate various forms of material handling equipment such as hoists, cranes, tow motors, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
  • Exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by company management.
