About The Position

Cogent, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and hardworking individual to join their team as a Welder/Fabricator. Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Desire and ability to work in a fast paced and continuously changing field
Ability to work overtime on short notice
High level communication and organization skills, as well as a positive attitude towards customer service
Solid basic computer knowledge
Works well independently or with a team
Ability to manually lift and maneuver heavy objects, parts, equipment and materials
Ability to work under little supervision
Customer-first attitude
Ability to work outdoors under extreme weather conditions
Adaptable and comfortable with changing environments and protocols, understanding other duties might be required

Nice To Haves

Degree from a Technical or Vocational school in pipe and structural welding
Previous experience in industrial construction or maintenance

Responsibilities

Read and interpret blueprints or digital models.
Move steel with a forklift and overhead crane.
Cut material to size using a band saw, cutting torch or grinder.
Layout parts and prep material for welding.
Setup machines and weld carbon and stainless steels with GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, and GTAW processes.
Weld in all positions.
Pass various types of visual and nondestructive inspections on completed work.
Follow safety regulations and PPE requirements.
Maintain a neat and clean work area.
Supply welding hood and hand tools.
Work alone or as a team.
Continuous learning of products, applications, technology, market conditions and competitive advantages.
