About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Fabricator Welder to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on, non-supervisory role is responsible for welding, cutting, torching, grinding, layout, fabrication, assembly, and material handling in a manufacturing environment. The majority of welding work involves MIG and Flux Core welding. The ideal candidate brings at least 7 years of fabrication experience, strong welding skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of experience in a fabrication manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of welding, cutting, torching, grinding, fitting, and steel fabrication practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform welding at a 6G-capable level, meaning the ability to weld pipe or similar work pieces in fixed positions and multiple orientations, including overhead, vertical, and angled positions.
  • Ability to weld carbon steel, carbon steel pipe, and structural steel.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and fabrication specifications.
  • Strong measuring skills, including standard and metric systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a non-supervisory role.
  • Ability to share job knowledge with team members in a learning-based environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and determine priorities.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience fabricating large or intricate machinery preferred.
  • Fork truck experience and current fork truck license preferred.
  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail.
  • Ability to stay organized and work under pressure to meet production deadlines.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships across departments.
  • Willingness to support changing production needs while maintaining workmanship standards.
  • Comfortable working in an established shop environment with older equipment, tools, and machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced MIG and Flux Core welding, cutting, torching, grinding, layout, fabrication, fitting, and assembly work.
  • Weld carbon steel, carbon steel pipe, and structural steel according to job specifications.
  • Lay out, fabricate, fit, and assemble steel components and manufactured equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, measurements, and fabrication specifications.
  • Operate overhead cranes, yard cranes, aerial lifts, drill presses, belt sanders, saws, pipe threaders, and related shop equipment.
  • Use forklifts and material-handling equipment to load, unload, and move freight and materials within the plant, as authorized.
  • Rig, sling, lift, and position work pieces safely using appropriate equipment.
  • Maintain quality standards for fabricated components and finished equipment.
  • Track and report project time using the company time and attendance system.
  • Support related departments such as Research & Development, Engineering, and Service as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
