About The Position

Waste Connections of Iowa is seeking a safety-conscious Welder/Container Delivery Truck Driver to join their growing team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role involves performing welding and repair of trash containers and compactors, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and communicating needed repairs with customers. The company offers training and assistance for obtaining a CDL, and provides a truck for career growth. The typical schedule is Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience in Stick and MIG welding.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Class B CDL preferred but willing to train and assist with CDL.

Nice To Haves

Experience in PLC's and electrical is a plus, but will train.
Fabrication experience a plus!

Responsibilities

Perform welding and repair of trash containers and compactors.
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate and OSHA standards.
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks directly with customers.
