About The Position

Lake Air Products is seeking a 1st Shift Welder to join its Appleton, Wisconsin location. The company is a contract manufacturer serving medical, aerospace and defense, industrial, and other markets. The position involves welding and inspecting metal parts and assemblies to specifications, using applicable welding methods, measuring instruments, and work aids. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of experience in TIG, MIG, and tack welding; TIG welding is preferred.
Excellent people skills and ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team.
Integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission.
Ability to weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds throughout the day.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to read blueprints and perform necessary measurements.

Responsibilities

Lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications using a straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler.
Observe tests on welded surfaces, including hydrostatic, X-ray, and dimensional-tolerance tests.
Develop templates, tooling, and other work aids to hold and align parts.
Determine required equipment and welding methods using knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
Examine finished products and spare parts and compare them with samples to check whether specifications are met.
Inspect grooves, angles, and gap allowances using measuring instruments.
Weld metal by fusing segments using gas tungsten arc, metal arc, flux-cored arc, plasma arc, and other welding arcs.
