About The Position

The Welder/Assembler position is responsible for MIG and TIG welding of aluminum and stainless steel parts to create a tank to be mounted on a truck chassis. SkyMark Refuelers is a market leading manufacturer of custom work trucks serving the aviation refueling, liquid waste removal, hi-rail maintenance, direct-to-locomotive refueling, and refined fuel delivery industries. With its headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri, SkyMark also operates a world-class aviation refueler facility in Findlay, Ohio along with a tank plant in Sullivan, Illinois.

Requirements

Proven experience in conducting quality inspections.
Good eye for detail and understand quality levels set for tank construction
Analyze problems, detect root causes and resolve all issues.
Be aware of Health and Safety standards and their implication in the workplace.
PC skills in Microsoft Excel, Word.
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
Diploma or Certificate of welding school or at least one year of equivalent work experience welding similar materials using GTAW/GMAW process.

Responsibilities

Hand plasma cutting
Fitting assemblies to weld
Tubing and fitting welding
Confined space welding, 30-45 minutes per task
Welding with quality and attention to cosmetic detail is a MUST
Read and understand Blueprints
Work Safely and Maintain clean and organized work area
Operate Miller and Lincoln welding equipment
Operate lifting equipment
Operate standard fabrication equipment such as horizontal saw, drill press, grinders.
Operate plasma cutter, cutting torch, and hand saws
Perform quality checks on finished assemblies
Fabricate minor brackets as needed
Must adhere to all company safety and operation policies
Use established construction techniques to build tanks
