About The Position

Aldridge Electric is strengthening America’s Infrastructure one project at a time. You could be part of an industry-changing team as we continually improve construction safety, quality, techniques, and timelines with prefabricated construction assemblies. We are looking for an entry-level welder/apprentice who is reliable and motivated to learn our fleet processes. At Aldridge, we take pride in developing our people. This role will offer you opportunities to learn the construction process, safety, construction technologies, and blueprint and work order reading, all while building components and assemblies for projects across the nation in our prefab shop environment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to effectively use MIG, TIG, and Arc welders, as well as the Arc equipment.
  • Proficient with metal shear, lathe, iron worker and welding certifications a plus.
  • Able to use & read a tape measure accurately.
  • Have prior experience operating basic hand and power tools.
  • Reliable and consistently show up to work on time.
  • Able and willing to do physically demanding work.
  • Must be able to be on their feet all day working on projects.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Minimum of 1 year of welding experience or recent graduation from a technical school
  • Positive attitude
  • Prior Welding experience
  • Ability to read blueprints

Nice To Haves

  • MIG Certification
  • Forklift Operating experience
  • Familiar with Lean construction or manufacturing processes

Responsibilities

  • Report to work ready to perform assigned tasks by using established safe work practices and by wearing any prescribed personal protective equipment.
  • Use the proper tools and equipment for each task and use them correctly. If knowledge or proficiency with the operation or equipment is questionable, ask before it is used.
  • Report all unsafe behaviors and/or conditions, near misses, incidents and injuries to your supervisor immediately. Take immediate action as appropriate if you observe something that could cause injury to a fellow worker.

Benefits

  • The hourly pay for this role is between $20.00 - $24.00.
  • The role may also be eligible for a bonus.
  • This is a union position and provides union benefits.
