About The Position
The Welder Level 2 performs MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless-steel components with intermediate to advanced proficiency. The role involves working from complex blueprints, fabricating custom parts, and ensuring compliance with external and customer quality standards.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional welding experience or equivalent technical training.
- Proficiency in MIG and TIG processes on carbon and stainless steel.
- Strong understanding of welding metallurgy and heat-affected zones.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for long durations in shop and field environments.
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with ASME and AWS welding standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel and stainless steel to precise tolerances.
- Read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings and weld symbols.
- Perform welds in multiple positions, including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
- Conduct quality control checks, including dimensional verification and basic NDT preparation.
- Assist in developing jigs, fixtures, and process improvements.
- Maintain welder logs, repair records, and consumable usage documentation.
