About The Position

Flex-N-Gate is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry. We are hiring a Weld Technician for the afternoon shift (2pm-10pm). This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role focused on maintaining high-quality tooling and supporting production efficiency. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining and repairing paint jig tooling to ensure optimal performance.

Requirements

• Completion of a welding skills assessment (used to establish baseline skill level).
• Forklift certification, or willingness to obtain certification.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong time management skills to support production schedules.
• A positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning operations for paint jig tooling, including operating industrial power washers and using paint stripping ovens.
• Conduct gauging, maintenance, and repair of paint jig tooling.
• Utilize metal fabrication tools and welding skills to complete repairs.
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to develop and maintain cleaning schedules.
• Maintain accurate documentation of tooling condition, maintenance, and repairs.
• Communicate tooling status, concerns, and improvement opportunities to the team.
