This role involves performing weld repair on metal components using MIG methods, utilizing checking fixtures and measuring equipment to ensure compliance with customer requirements. The operator will be responsible for counting and labeling finished components, recording production information accurately in the inventory system, and ensuring all production paperwork is completed on time. The position requires the ability to follow instructions, communicate effectively, and perform finished goods inspection according to control plans and operator instructions. The role also includes performing minor maintenance tasks and ensuring a clean and safe work area, adhering to IATF and ISO14001 standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Experience with MIG Welding
  • The ability to safely operate any and all equipment as necessary
  • Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team or on single operations
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • One to three months related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The ability to safely and effectively operate machinery; and material handling equipment within orientation period.
  • The ability to pass post examinations for position required training.
  • The ability to read and comprehend written work instructions.
  • The ability to write effective correspondence.
  • The ability to write and interpret work instructions and work procedures.
  • The ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Effectively represent the company professionally to customers, suppliers and other associates within the organization.
  • The ability to add and subtract three digit numbers, multiply and divide.
  • The ability to use and accurately read micrometers, dial calipers, digital indicators, tape measure, feeler gages, and taper gages in standard and metric measurements.
  • The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Nice To Haves

  • Holds an AWS Certification is a plus.
  • Two (2) years related experience in an automotive manufacturing or similar manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Must be flexible with working hours

Responsibilities

  • Perform Weld Repair on metal components using MIG methods
  • Use of checking fixtures and other measuring and gauging equipment to test and determine compliance to customer requirements.
  • Responsible for counting and labelling of finished components and the recording of all appropriate production information.
  • Enter accurate information into inventory system using bar coding scanners as required
  • Ensure all production paperwork is filled out accurately and on-time
  • Ability to follow oral and written instruction, and provide clear communication to co-workers and supervision
  • Responsible to check assemblies to fixtures, gauges, tools or visual inspection aids (i.e. inspection instructions, operator instructions etc.)
  • Follows Control Plans and works in accordance with Company, Quality & Safety specifications
  • Ensures work area and machines are clean and safe at all times.
  • Responsible for pointing out problems and concerns on quality, productivity or safety related matters.
  • Performs minor maintenance tasks such as tip changes, tool changes, and set-up of equipment.
  • Performs finished goods inspection per control plan and operator instructions
  • Work in a safe manner at all times
  • Works in compliance with IATF(formerly TS 16949) and ISO14001 standards.
