We are currently seeking an experienced Weld Engineer for our Harper Woods, MI location. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, and improving manufacturing processes with special expertise in engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree-Weld Engineering Technology
- Five + years welding experience
- Experience in automotive seating and/or mechanism environment
- GD&T knowledge
- Autocad
- Knowledge of IATF 16949
- MTM
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
- Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel including customers, suppliers
Responsibilities
- Lead new welding development research
- Troubleshoot welding issues both internally and with suppliers
- Develop processes for quotations
- Develop weld cell designs for efficient manufacturing
- Develop and specify welding standards and best practices
- Develop and specify welding equipment and components
- Improve welding equipment OEE
- Reduce welding scrap
- Program management
- Promote sound welding principles throughout the organization
