About The Position

Ryder is hiring a permanent, full-time Welcome Center Clerk in Frankfort, Indiana. The role pays $21.00 per hour, plus a $1.00-per-hour shift premium, and is scheduled Wednesday through Sunday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The employee maintains visitor and vehicle logs, checks vehicle seals, communicates with management, and monitors CCTV equipment. Depending on the location, the employee may also operate equipment and may need equipment certification.

The position includes paid on-the-job training, safety gear, and access to benefits beginning after 30 days. Ryder describes its warehouse environment as safety-focused and equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. Some positions may require additional screening, such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, road tests, or customer-required badging or background checks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in freight coordination, scheduling, or planning.
• Excellent time-management skills and strong organizational ability.
• High proficiency in Microsoft programs.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Positive attitude that sets an example for others.
• Ability to maintain a sense of urgency and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Welcome Center attendant log of commercial and private vehicle arrivals and departures.
• Check inbound and outbound vehicle seals.
• Communicate welcome center issues effectively to management.
• Interact politely and professionally with drivers and visitors.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures for checking freight in and out.
• Monitor Closed Caption Television (CCTV) equipment and advise management of occurrences.
• Depending on location, operate equipment and obtain equipment certification if required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
