About The Position

The Weighmaster serves as the critical link between truck drivers, loader operators, and customers to keep daily operations running smoothly and efficiently. They require strong communication, adaptability, and attention to detail, as priorities and conditions can shift quickly throughout the day. Weighmasters provide directions to drivers and customers, coordinate material flow, and help navigate the fast-paced and often ambiguous nature of aggregate operations with professionalism and confidence.

Requirements

Math, reading, and writing skills (English at minimum, Spanish is a plus)
Professional written and oral communication
2+ years in a fast-paced customer service position
Expertise with Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel, and Google Drive
Punctual and reliable, excellent attendance required
Maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance
Embrace a team environment where all members contribute to the success of the operation
Willing to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, learning and performing a variety of jobs
Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
Valid driver’s License with a Clean Driving Record
Ability to sit for long periods of time and occasionally crawl, climb, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift (30 lbs.).
Ability to understand issues, problems, and opportunities and make timely, sound decisions.
Ability to take responsibility for decisions and understand the impact and implications.
Ability to communicate with other employees and customers, perform an assortment of administrative tasks, and have personal management skills.
Possess advanced customer service skills and the ability to develop professional relationships with customers and employees.
Demonstrate attention to detail and exert high effort and focus on very busy days.
Ability to make sound decisions and remain calm under high-pressure situations.
Ability to continually identify personal knowledge and perspective gaps and self-educate.

Responsibilities

Identify, manage, and create new orders based on inbound calls and accepted quotes.
Identify loaded products visually, ensuring all loads shipped contain the correct material.
Ensure proper billing and accurate accounting in reviewing daily scale tickets.
Know the functional and technical properties of LSP products and their applications.
Communicate clearly with drivers to optimize their use by providing directions and traffic information.
Multi-task – helping with clerical tasks, such as updating equipment hours, daily inspection worksheets, and ordering supplies.
Provide safety training and direction for site visitors.
Build rapport with customers and truck drivers, and establish position relationships.
Ensure work areas and surroundings are clean and safe.
Support scale operations by flexing between multiple sites.
