Weekend Memory Care Aide 6am-2pm $18.50-28 (Full Time)
About The Position
We are looking for someone to be an Advocate of Empathy, a Patient Observer, a Master of the Mise en Scène, and a Life Partner. This role involves creating human connection with residents during their most vulnerable moments, discovering residents’ interests and abilities to create appropriate engagement plans, setting the stage for a successful day by preparing environments, and partnering with residents to achieve all facets of daily life. The role also requires excellent documentation of resident care and changes in condition, and assisting with the orientation of new team members in memory care neighborhoods.
Requirements
- At least eighteen (18) years of age.
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English with residents.
- Positive and energetic attitude.
- Computer skills to print documents and enter resident information.
- Active role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to assist residents with sitting, standing, and walking, as well as assisting persons after a fall.
- Must be criminally cleared.
Responsibilities
- Create human connection with residents during their most vulnerable moments.
- Discover residents’ interests, abilities, and what makes each resident who they are.
- Collaborate to create appropriate engagement plans and implement strategies with patience to ensure success.
- Set the stage for a successful day by preparing dining rooms, event spaces, and resident rooms.
- Partner with residents to achieve all facets of daily life from waking to sleeping.
- Document resident care and changes in condition.
- Assist with orientation of team members assigned to memory care neighborhoods.
