Weekend PRN Hospital Pharmacist
About The Position
Join a high-performing inpatient pharmacy team at Springhill Medical Center, where pharmacists practice at the top of their license and play a key role in patient care. Springhill Medical Center supports 200+ inpatients, a leading cardiovascular program, and one of the busiest emergency departments in the region. Our pharmacists are fully integrated into clinical care and work collaboratively with physicians, nursing, and case management teams. This role offers a flexible weekend schedule, typically 2-3 shifts per month, allowing pharmacists to stay engaged in hospital practice without a full-time commitment, within a strong clinical practice environment and a collaborative team culture.
Requirements
- PharmD or BS in Pharmacy from an accredited program
- Active Alabama Pharmacist License
- Valid Alabama Controlled Substance Certificate
Responsibilities
- Review and verify medication orders in a fully electronic health record
- Provide clinical dosing and pharmacokinetic monitoring (e.g., antibiotics, anticoagulation)
- Support safe and efficient medication use across inpatient units and ED
- Supervise and collaborate with pharmacy technicians
- Serve as a clinical resource for providers and nursing staff
