Weekend Nights Helper
About The Position
The primary role of the Helper is to perform precision miscellaneous tasks, as directed by the Plant Superintendent, to support Catoosa’s manufacturing operations and office functions. This includes reading prints for required specifications and dimensions, setting up and operating standard manufacturing equipment, supporting logistic needs, providing support to structure bay fabrication, performing introductory shop tasks, and supporting the COF Safety Department’s directives. The role also requires diligence with housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and orderly shop environment and completing assigned work within given time frames and according to specifications. Other job responsibilities may be assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of manufacturing tools and their proper use
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability and willingness to follow directions
- Ability to work both independently and in a team setting
- Verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, etc.
Responsibilities
- Read prints for required specifications and dimensions
- Set up and operate standard manufacturing equipment, including overhead cranes and forklifts
- Support logistic needs, including needs from shop personnel, unloading of equipment from trucks, and moving materials to their required locations
- Provide support as needed to structure bay fabrication
- Perform introductory shop tasks, such as grinding or deburring
- Support COF Safety Department’s directives, including visual inspection of equipment and installation of basic safety items, such as signage
- Be diligent with housekeeping duties to help maintain a clean and orderly shop environment
- Complete assigned work within given time frame and according to specifications
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned
