About The Position
KBAK/KBFX has an immediate opening for a creative Weekend News Producer! In this role, you will be responsible for producing our weekend evening (Saturday/Sunday) newscasts with additional producing responsibilities for the other 3 days of the week. This position will also work closely with managers, directors, and anchors on the newscast and its content. In this position you will determine the content and flow of newscasts, write stories and develop content for our web site.
Requirements
- Solid news judgment
- Compelling and accurate writer
- Strong team player with equally strong communication skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time to put together an exciting and informative newscast
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dead-driven environment
- Ability to execute news strategies and goals in newscasts
- Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities
- Ability to learn newsroom systems, such as iNews
- At least some previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station
Nice To Haves
- Journalism degree is preferred
- Right entry-level candidate may be considered
