About The Position

The audio revolution is here – and iHeart is leading it! iHeartMedia, the number one audio company in America, reaches 90% of Americans every month. We are seeking an experienced radio news anchor and reporter with a strong background. This is not an entry-level position as this opportunity is in service of major markets. The ideal candidate is skilled in audio recording and editing for broadcast, with excellent comprehension, writing, and editorial judgment. This is for weekend mornings in multiple major markets.

Requirements

• College degree in journalism or 3–5 years of broadcast news experience
• Strong passion for news, naturally curious, and possesses excellent interviewing skills
• Exceptional comprehension, writing, and editing abilities with a contemporary writing style
• Advanced pronunciation and on‑air language skills
• Clear, engaging voice with personable, modern delivery
• Strong storytelling instincts
• Solid technical aptitude and ability to learn new tools quickly
• Experience with web publishing and social media
• Knowledge of audio recording, editing, and selecting sound for news

Responsibilities

• Anchor multiple market newscasts
• Write, record, and edit audio and text for broadcast
• Write and publish news content for web and social media
• Monitor sources for breaking news, e.g., wires and social media
• Ability to work weekends and fill in during the week.
• Finalize content using digital audio editing software
• Maintain crucial deadlines in order to provide news stories in a timely fashion
• Repackage content from producers and field reporters for newscasts
